I find it pretty difficult to take social networking seriously so I'm pretty pleased that I've made it this far. I'm slowly coming round to the idea that it might have some practical benefits and not just be a vice for camera-obsessed teenage girls and guys with silly hair cuts. Not that there's anything really wrong with silly haircuts I suppose.

I don't have any huge ambitions in life. Now that I'm done with uni and the pressure's off I'm mainly interested in getting out, seeing new places, meeting new people and such like. I like to get out the country when I can although annual leave really doesn't help.

I like the little things in life like wearing my dressing gown about town, drinking good quality tea, getting into unnecessarily protracted conversations about unimportant things and clubs that have good enough sound systems so that your ears aren't ringing afterwards. I'm not an arty person but I do love a bit of Alex Grey and Zdzislaw Beksinski.

I'm prone to talking at length about things that I don't like but it comes across better in person so let's just leave that for now.

Having a background in sports, especially competitive swimming I know of no truer statement. I enjoy listening to music â?? old and new. I enjoy meeting up with people over coffee to catchup, but also occasionally like quiet nights in with a Dominos Pizza and a good DVD. I'm also into photography.

I've started to get into travel photography and love exploring new cultures. I've also been looking into portraiture. I'm lucky enough to be pretty well travelled, having visited many places in Europe, America, Australia, Asia and even a little bit of Africa.

I'm from Glasgow (though I've never met a person who could tell from my accent). I'm a student living in the West End doing student-y things. I love my music - play, sing and write, I dabble with a paint brush from time to time and I've recently become determined to regain my former Adonis-esque physique. I'm pretty good-humoured and I do the whole sociable pub/party/coffees thing as much as I can.

Oh, and that picture is awful, so try not to judge me too much on it. But I don't have a camera, except for a faulty one on my phone and I can't even connect that to a computer, and all of my Facebook pictures either show me with my former long hair or as one of a group. Oh, and I have a little moustache at the moment. Swiss people don't like it. Fans of (the late) ;) Paul McCartney might.

Hey Im arlene currently a nursing student at uws and really enjoying it. I work part time as a support worker in a care home and with adults with disabilities at the weekends. My favourite bands include machinehead, slayer, korn, soil etc etc. Hoping to travel when i qualify and my ultimate ambition is to work in africa.

I'm a redheaded writer from the west coast of Scotland with a weird, semi-English accent (thanks mum). I enjoy writing - even difficult stuff, like self-summaries - and I use every excuse I can do get more done, especially when it's late at night and I really ought to be asleep.

I'm a little bit geeky, very socially liberal, and I enjoy making friends from diverse backgrounds and with broad interests. Anyone who likes poetry is instantly interesting to me, since I think it's something of a dying art. I tend to watch very little television, preferring to download the few decent programs without advertisements: I wish there was more Mitchell and Webb and The Thick of It on the BBC to make the license fee worthwhile.

I read, but selectively, since I believe if I read all the books I ought then I'd have no time for the books I ought not to, and they're usually more important.

I am relatively outgoing. I like analyzing things/people etc. I enjoy helping people. I was in the merchant navy I am also a time served heating engineer. I like being with people who don't take life too seriously.

Hmm, well what to put here, I'm no good at these, but if you want to speak to someone with an outrageous and offensive sense of humour, give me a shout. I'm pretty much like the best and most outrageous party you have ever been to in human form :P

I'm am enjoying my life at university going out and having fun with friends is always very good also. I can be abit down in the dumps if i have a few bad days. However apart from that i am usually very upbeat and outgoing.

I have absolutely no desire to write anything in this box. My answers to the questions give a good indication of what i'm like.

Not been on here for a while, so an update is in order.
Since I was last on here, my career has taken off, I cover the whole of the UK & Nth Ireland as well as the odd gigs in Tenerife and Benidorm, so alls good on the singing front, lol.
As for the women in my life, pretty poor at the moment, but hopefully that will change soon..lol

Well folks, what can I say. These sort of things are sooo difficult! Me not likeing self analysis, I'd rather leave that to all the lovely people that I'm going to meet here, but I suppose I should write something so here goes... I'm a fairly cool person with lots of interests in life. I enjoy meeting people, movies, reading, music (I only wish I could play, but my fingers won't let me!!!). I try to be open minded about everything and love the adventure of trying something new every day (even if it's only a new flavour of crisps or caffeinated beverage).

Paul, having become so jaded with the filth from websites such as "gaydar" and "fitlads", has finally decided to look for less sleazy alternatives. He tells me he is looking for a young gentleman of the highest quality and that he will pay MOST handsomely in the form of hugs for such a gem.

My name is Pauline, I'm a very tiny little girl, about 5 foot tall, or a quarter of an inch off. I'm mostly quiet, especially around new people, but once I'm comfortable, I can be much more open, you know how it goes. Saying this, I've found I am inconsistent in my communications, I tend to close myself off now and then, but it never does last. I have a big interest in other countries and cultures, and I don't like it when my food touches.

I'm currently in the RAF my hometown is Glasgow but I am being posted to Kinloss for a few years so i thought i would create this just for something to do while Im up there and possibly meet someone out of it all hopefully.

My hobbies include some the usual guy stuff like football, boxing etc and some not so usual guy stuff like walking, gym, running, athletics, reading, driving anywhere and getting lost is always good fun as well.

I have'nt really set any goals as such yet i just take each day as it comes but I suppose it would be nice to make my way through the ranks and earn the big money and settle down in a nice house with a nice family with a nice car sitting in the drive.

What makes me unique? erm... well i guess it would have to be my sense of humor I'm quite sarcastic and i know its the lowest form of humor but it gets people started.

My tastes in music is anything really I'm quite easy going when it comes to music, Mainly trance or dance or most things in the charts I'm fond of.

Favorite types of movies has got to be comedy, like Anchorman how can anyone not like that film! I'm partial to my thrillers as well such as Taken again an amazing movie! You also cant beat watching a good horror movie with a girl on the couch:)

My name is Jonny. Im at St Andrews at the moment, studying art history. I originally came from Kirkintilloch.

Kirkintilloch is a little town to the north east of Glasgow. It has the best of two worlds. One, the town finds itself situated just before the Campsie fells, which could be considered as a gateway to the highlands. There is a really beautiful view near my house of the surrounding hills. Two, Kirkintilloch is just a short bus ride away from many of the hippest joints this side of scotland. I kid ye not.

Right now I live in a quirky little flat in St Andrews. I live with my friends Kyle, Nick and Sarah. They are from Chicago, Edinburgh and Munich respectively. Sometime in the seventies the owners of the flat decided to go crazy. With a little bit of cork, a mirrorball and a whole lot of love, they made a makeshift bar for the living room. It has red lights and everything.

I used to be a whole lot more formally musical and theatrical. From an early start playing the piano, I got into playing folk guitar and got pretty good at playing the bassoon. There were several orchestras and wind bands which I was part of. I met some really wonderful people though those bands. I have very fond memories of playing Christmas carols in freezing churches. There was a inspiring conductor by the name of George Kelly who managed to get a hundred and one whiny pubescent kids to play. One thing led to another and before I knew it I was doing quite a bit on stage. I have quite a few videos of me singing off key and being a little bit too intense. That was all in high school.

I got to Uni and everything changed. Before I got alot of security and happiness from simply being with my family alot of the time. Getting out of the house was healthy I think. One thing I appreciate about having come here is that I have met so many folk who I never thought could exist. These people really care about what they study, and follow their passions with conviction. An example might be my friend Lily. We had recently been to see the band Grizzly Bear perform, and on the way home she explained her dissertation on how we experience the present. All these words came out, and before I knew it I was swimming in a sea of words like 'Husserl' and 'phenomenology'. From what i did understand, listening to her was a bit like eating something healthy and delicious. Like courgettes.

I do know how to laugh at things. What do you get when you mix a turkey with a pomegranate? Thats right, a purkey. Now - if it were to exist a vegetarian could react to its presence on a table like this, "Vegetarian meals should not have to emulate Carnivorous meals. Vegetarian meals stand on their own!" To which i might reply, "But as an unnaturally occurring creature, it has not been manufactured for you consumption. Give purkey a chance." To which the purkey might respond, "pobble pobble." Nevertheless, I tend to like vegetarians.

I am one of those open minded, accepting types. As the above paragraph would suggest, I regularly cater for those who consume nuts and mushrooms at an alarming rate. However you cant beat a good bit of meat - it just helps me concentrate. Similarly too with religion and social class and politics and all that stuff. Ive been brought up pretty socialist, aethist and middle class. However if you are a good person, you're a good person. Everything else is kind of unimportant.

I hate being asked to describe myself. I'm never quite sure what to say really. I imagine the feeling is like asking a colour blind person what colour an apple is.

I'm assuming there is a red/green type of colour blindness. Wikipedia tells me there is and they are called protanopia and deuteranopia and they mainly happen in males. Mostly only being able to see in shades of brown is much worse than not being able to describe myself.

I'm a shy, honest and somewhat geeky boy. I like a good laugh. Enjoy long walking adventures about town and in Glasgows many parks. Cycling everywhere as well. I get a bit too obsessive about sci fi and computer games at times, then onto music. Come to think of it I can be quite easily distracted.

Photography has always been in my life and I'm only just now embracing it. You can always have fun with a camera in hand.
