Description

Enjoy two days in the North West Highlands. Experience a dramatic landscape rich in history and natural beauty with an overnight stay in the Highland town of Fort William.

Day 1
The tour begins in Edinburgh and travels to Glasgow to pick you up. The tour then heads north to Stirling, catching a glimpse of its famous and majestic castle on the way. We will stop here to visit the Wallace Monument (optional extra). The monument is a towering stone testimonial to the Scottish legend William Wallace, and contains his 5ft 6in (1.7m) sword.

Next we pass Doune Castle, location for the film 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail', and also the setting for the 'Outlander' TV series. We continue north, via Tyndrum, and through the atmospheric Rannoch Moor to Glencoe, site of the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald Clan, and also featured in the James Bond film 'Skyfall'. In Summer months, we continue to the stunning Glenfinnan Viaduct, made famous by the Harry Potter films, for a photo stop, before checking in to our accommodation in the Highland town of Fort William.

Day 2
After breakfast we head north into the Great Glen and enjoy a photo stop at Glen Garry. We then make our next stop of the day at the majestic Eilean Donan Castle (optional extra), with time to explore the Castle and its beautiful setting. Our journey continues with a stop for lunch at the famous Loch Ness at the lochside village of Fort Augustus. Spend time here Nessie-hunting and relax with fantastic views over the loch. We then stop at the Commando Memorial at Ben Nevis on our way back to Edinburgh Waverley Train Station where you will be issued with a train ticket to return to Glasgow.
